Tenth edition. Six parts in one quarto volume (7 1/4 x 5 3/8 inches; 185 x 138 mm). [12], 146, [10, table]; [4], 92, [4, table]; [8], 188; [4], 20; [6], 126, [4, table]; [6], 56; [2], 69-112 pp. Books with woodcut initials, head-pieces and decorations, illustrations and diagrams in the text. With separate title-pages, each dated 1660 for each part.
Full contemporary calf. boards ruled in blind. Black morocco spine label, lettered in gilt. Top edge dyed brown, others speckled red. Title is hand-lettered in ink on fore-edge. Some minor repairs to joints and hinges. With newer endpapers. The final leaf with a tear at outer, lower corner, just touching the catchword. Previous owner's armorial bookplate on blank verso of general title-page. Overall a very good copy.
Provenance: Bookplate of Thomas Hamilton (1721-1794), 7th Earl of Haddington, engraved armorial bookplate on verso of title; thence by descent to the Earls of Haddington.
