Chicago: Chicago Civil Liberties Committee, 1935. Pamphlet. 12 [i.e. 13], [1]p., wraps. 8.5x7.25 inches. Very Good. Report by the Chicago branch of the ACLU on an investigation into University of Chicago faculty accused of spreading communist ideas. The case of "red-baiting" was brought by Charles Walgreen (founder of Walgreen drug stores) on behalf of his niece, student Lucille Norton who had enrolled at the university with a scholarship from her uncle. The Senate found the claims made by Walgreen to be unsupported and likely emerged from Walgreen's own violations of university protocols. (Inventory #: 319120)
