Boston: Prince Society, 1867. Collection of letters from English bookseller John Dunton's 1686 trip to New England to check out the political situation there. According to the book's introduction, "The Life and Errors of John Dunton, late Citizen of London" was first published in 1705 "and has been for many years a standard book of reference for its description of New England in 1686." See Howes D-581 who describes this title as an "Interesting picture of New England life in the seventeenth century, but chiefly plagiarized from Josselyn, Mather, and others." This is #46 in a limited edition of 150. It is ex-library, with a small oval stamp on the title page, partially effaced, and another on p. 1. No other markings.
