From the Introduction by John Held Jr.: "The Stamp Art Gallery is pleased to present this catalog containing artist statements from thirty-five of the over one-hundred women participants in the [exhibition]. In so doing, we believe [the gallery] has offered the broadest coverage of female activity in the field of artist postage stamps ever published."
