Emigrating after the Revolution, he lived and worked in Germany, where he wrote his current book in 1936, followed by "Odessa Pushkin" in 1938, thus recreating Pushkin's life in reverse order - from his fateful later years to his relatively peaceful youth. "Married Pushkin" was based in large part on notes and letters of Pushkin himself and of people in his inner circle. (Inventory #: 003218)
