N.p.: N.p., 1940. Three original drawings of comedian Charlie Chaplin, circa 1940s. Executed in black pen on onionskin stock, with white-out additions, drawing adhered to illustration board by the artist. All three drawings with the insignia of Al Kilgore to the bottom left corner, and manuscript ink annotations to the verso noting the drawings as property of New York Hospital in White Plains, NY.
Noted comic artist, caricaturist, and filmmaker Al Kilgore was best known for his work on the Bullwinkle comic strip for the Bell-McClure Syndicate between 1962 and 1967. Kilgore also co-directed and produced "The World of Hans Christian Andersen" in 1968, and was awarded the National Cartoonist Society Silver T-Square in 1976 for his work.
One 6 x 12.75 inches, one 6.75 x 14 inches, and one 5.75 x 7.75 inches. Generally Very Good plus, with light glue darkening to the onionskin. (Inventory #: 154156)
