Rebound in dark red buckram, titled in gilt on leather spine label; plain endpapers; [i]-xii [13]-449, [41]pp; with 40 color lithographs printed by P. S. Duval. A sound copy, rebound and rubbed with general moderate wear, plates mildly toned, occasional scattered foxing, occasional minor pencil notes to a small number of plates: Good or better.
An illustrated "summary of dermatological literature of the period" (Garrison-Morton 3989). Rayer was the first to describe adenoma sebaceum and xanthoma multiplex and to differentiate between acute and chronic eczema. This edition NOT IN GARRISON-MORTON, who notes French editions of 1826-27 (3989) and 1835, but only mentions an English translation of 1883. (Inventory #: 55172)
