Filiadelfiia (Philadelphia): V-va "Amerika", 1966. Very good. First edition, n. d. (ca 1966); oblong 8 1/4 x 9 1/4; pp. [14]; card stock, yellow, pictorial wraps; numerous silk-screened illustrations; a few small nicks and rubbed spots to corners and edges; two faint spots to margins; in very good condition. Signed and inscribed by the author on the title page. A delightful children's poem, it was illustrated with beautiful silk-screened images by artist and husband of the author Roman Wasylyszyn. Post-WWII Ukrainian refugees, Vladimira and Roman emigrated to the US, settled in Philadelphia, and became deeply involved with the cultural emigre life. Writing under the pen names Mira Harmash and Yi Zhak, Vladimira wrote numerous children's tales, poetry, and journal articles, including the current Cranes, which was her first book.
