UPDATE: The books have been recovered.   The following books were stolen during transport in England on July 22, 2011. 1. Ceruti, Benedetto & Chiocco, Andrea; CalceolarI ivn. Veronensis a Benedicto Cervto medico incaeptvm; et ab Andrea Chiocco med. physico excelltiss, collegii luculenter descriptum. Verona Angelus Tamus, 1622. Folio, pp. 46, 748, engraved title page, folded plate of the museum's enterior (a 19th century reproduction of original), 43 engraved plates in the text (8 of which are full page). In 19th century calf and marbled boards, gilt spine panels and titles. 2. Faujas de Saint-Fond, Barthelemy; Oeuvres de Bernard Palissy, revues sue les Exemplaires de la Bibliotheque du Roi aves des Notes. Paris, Chez Ruault, 1777. Quarto, pp. lxxvi, 734, errata. In recased contemporary calf, gilt spine label. corners and boards rubbed and worn, inner hinges re-enforced, light foxing to some text margins, rubber stamp on title page and verso of title page and last text page edge. 3. Agricola, Georgius; De Ortu & Causis Subterraneorum, lib. V. De Natura Eorum quae Effluunt ex terra lib. IIII. De Natura Fossilium lib. X. De Ueteribus & nouis Metallis lib. II. Bermannus, siue De re Metallica Dialogus. Interpretatio Germanica uocum rei Metallicae, addito Indice Foecundissimo. Basileae Per Hieronymum Frobenium et Nic. Episcopium, 1546. Folio, pp. 487 with, blank at page 82 followed by half title, another half title at 165, blank at 415, followed by half title, pp 51 index, diagram. In later full calf with five spine bands, gold titles, original panelled calf front and rear covers laid over, modern leather ties, last six pages of index with earlier archival repair to tears at upper outer edge, very early "Bibliotheca" stamp on tp with early signature of prior owner, very early interesting inked marginal notations on minerals. 4. Maseres, Francis, Kepler, Johann, Hutton, Charles, et.al.; Scriptores Logarithmici; or, a Collection of Several Curious Tracts on the Nature and Construction of Logarithms, mentioned in Dr. Hutton's Historical Introduction to his New Edition of Sherwin's Mathematical Tables.... Volumes 1 and 2. London, J. Davis, 1791. Large quarto, vol. 1, pp. xix, errata, cxxi, 383, illustrated. Vol. 2, pp. x, errata, 591, illustrated. The two volumes are complete and in a contemporary full calf with gilt spine titles. Wear to corners and edges of covers nicely restored, hinges nicely re-enforced. 5. Hipparchus and edited by Achilles Tatius Vettori, Pietro (1499-1585); Hipparchi Bithyni In Arati et Evdoxi Phænomena libri III : Eiusdem Liber asterismorum. Achillis Statii In Arati Phaenomena. Arati vita, & fragmenta aliorum veterum in eius poema. Florentiae : In officina Ivntarvm, Bernardi filiorum, 1567. Small folio, pp., 4, 1, 123. Title in Greek and Latin. The work is complete and in the original limp vellum, spine titles perished, what appear to be cuts to vellum cover, armorial book plate on inside of cover, (Joannis Baptistae Eliae Camus), lower part of book plate perished. Auction note on rear cover dated 1966, penciled note on inside front cover noting first edition five copies in NUC. In a modern slip case. 6-9. Wolf (Wolffen), Christian Freihere von; (1679-1754); Der Anfangs-Grunde Aller Mathematischen Wissenschafter Erster Theil....Frankfurt und Leipzig,1725. Octavo, pp. 904, numerous folded plates.  Also present are two other works by Wolf dated 1722 and 1727. All three are in very good condition. TOTAL FOUR VOLUMES. 10. Kier, James; A Treatise on the Various Kinds of Permanently Elastic Fluids or Gases. 2nd edition, London, 1779. Quarto, pp. xvi, 120, 1 plate. In a tooled calf binding with gilt titles. Binding is pristine, text is very clean, armorial book plate of Thomas Harrison with his signature and 1792 date on end sheet. Later book plate of Henry Faul.
